Manhattan Beach is a city in southwestern Los Angeles County, located to the south of El Segundo and the north of Hermosa Beach. Known for its beautiful beaches and laid-back lifestyle, Manhattan Beach was ranked as the “Best City” to live in the United States in 2020.
The community is one of the three Beach Cities in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. It is known for a long beach stretching approximately 2.1 miles long and 450 feet wide. Residents and visitors enjoy this beach year-round due to Manhattan Beach’s moderate climate - averaging a high of 69.1°F and a low of 56.4°F year-round.
The city’s schools are run independently of Los Angeles Unified School District with a separate school board. Mira Costa High School is ranked in the top 1% of high schools nationally and has students from both Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach.
